What We Do
The Sterling National Bank Charitable Foundation is committed to making a difference in the communities we serve by supporting charitable organizations who share our vision to revitalize underserved communities and help the underprivileged populations.
Through our grant making, we assist nonprofits to deliver solutions that empower individuals and families within the communities we serve by promoting opportunities in Education and Community Development.
Geographic Area of Support
The Foundation considers grants to nonprofit charitable organizations with 501(c)(3) status that serve communities in the greater New York City, Lower Hudson Valley, Long Island and New Jersey areas.
The Foundation supports two areas of focus in our grant making: Education and Community Development.
How To Apply
Requests for funding are reviewed by our Foundation Board of Directors, with consideration given to programs with a clear purpose for which the funds are being used and the impact of our support.
Submissions are reviewed quarterly and deadlines for grant proposals are: February 12th, May 7th, August 6th and November 5th. Each organization will be notified by email and receive a decision notice at the end of each quarter in which the application was submitted.
